Organizers of the Spring INBA conference have cancelled the event due to limits on crowd restriction sizes. This part of the group’s statement in an e-mail to members.
This decision was not made lightly. The board understands the importance of conventions to our mission of supporting and educating journalists throughout the state But we feel that as journalists, it is important to follow the advice of experts and keep our distance from each other. Canceling this far ahead also protects the financial health of the organization.
Refunds, including of the EventBrite booking fee, are already being made through EventBrite. Please let us Vice President Brian Moline know if you registered for the convention but have not received your refund by the end of the week. He can be reached at BMoline@illinois.edu.
If you have already booked your room at the Eastland Suites, you must call to cancel that reservation on your own.
Updates regarding AP and SINBA awards, and the awarding and distribution of scholarships, will be provided as soon as possible.
Please take all the steps you can to stay healthy, and we will see you in the fall.
