Associated Press Statehouse Reporter John O’Connor noted what he terms a “blow to the Freedom of Information Act”. O’Connor,who has covered the Illinois prison system for many years, reports the Department of Corrections says it can’t disclose documents related to a May prison incident that resulted in an inmate’s death. The agency says that’s because it has turned over all documents, including copies, to the FBI. Here is O’Connor’s report.
